Ryan Murphy, executive producer and screenwriter of the popular anthology series, lifted the veil of secrecy over the upcoming 8th season.

Jessica Lang, who played the main roles in the first four seasons, in 2016, said she would no longer return to the series due to creative overload with such roles. This news really upset the fans, because Lang was one of the most charismatic actresses of the show.

But recently, Murphy announced the main caste of a new chapter in history, which will be called the Apocalypse. The roles will be performed by Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Katie Bates, familiar to fans of the anthology. Also, the cast will join the stars of season 7: Cheyenne Jackson, Leslie Grossman, Adina Porter and Billy Eikner. As for the long-awaited return of Jessica Lang, viewers will be able to see the star in episode 6.

Apocalypse will be a long-planned crossover between the first season, Killer House, and the third, Sabbat.

The showrner also shared a few other facts that fueled interest: the story will be about the matured child Michael Langdon from "The Killer House" and his foster mother Constance (Jessica Lang), and in series 5, you should prepare for a shocking plot twist.

"American Horror Story: Apocalypse" will be released September 12 this year.
